At some point I think Ryou would essentially give up on trying to get away from the spirit of the ring. It seems to follow him like a ghost, even if he throws the ring away or isolates himself completely. For a couple of days the spirit will be silent, but the worst part is waiting in apprehension of when he will be used again and wake up with no memory of what happened. Waiting is one of the hardest things someone can do, and when you're haunted by an intangible spirit that can control your every move, yeah, you'd start to lose any sense of time or comfort. All Ryou really does is wait.

So I was really happy with how this first turned out, but then I looked at it the next day and hated it. Mostly the hair. How do you draw his hair realistically while still being able to tell that it’s the same haircut???? This is a question for pretty much all ygo characters except Mariku because I can actually understand his hair ironically enough.

Tried to make Ryou look somewhat asian, but I have trouble drawing monolid eyes. I’m sticking to my headcanon that he’s half british half japanese even though i watch the series in japanese and the british thing comes from the dub yeah whatever m/

Also yes that is a creampuff on the table. Shoutout to all the cliche Ryou fanart out there, holla.
